New Adult Study Opportunities With Pastor Deanna Beginning Monday, October 15 at 7 pm join others for a time of reflection and learning as we explore spiritual journaling. This will be an opportunity to creatively think about experiences in other Bible studies, your life journey, your hopes and dreams and disappointments. No advance preparation will be needed and anyone is welcome to participate. This group will meet on Mondays and will alternate with Text Talk beginning October 22. Text Talk returns on new day. Beginning Monday, October 22nd at 7 pm you are invited to enjoy a time of conversation and study around the Bible readings for the coming Sunday. This group requires no advance preparation and is a wonderful way to enhance your worship experience. Come and learn and laugh and wonder at the treasures in God’s story. Wednesday Morning Bible Study This weekly Bible Study delves into a book of the Bible for study and discussion. Thanks to all those faithful participants who spent the last two years studying all 150 Psalms! This year we move to the end of the New Testament to study the book of Revelation. Along with the biblical material, a book by Barbara Rossing entitled "The Rapture Exposed: The Message of Hope in the Book of Revelation" will be used as a resource. Participants in the study may order a copy of the book if they desire. Everyone is welcome to join in the study (even if you weren’t part of a Wednesday study before). The hour-long study begins at 9:45 AM each Wednesday in the choir room. The coffee pot is always on and quite often snacks make their way into the room as well. Come and see how this often frightening and confusing book of the Bible can be a source of hope for us today. Revolution: Book Of Hope The book of Revelation is a biblical book that is often overlooked or ignored because it appears scary or confusing. The recent Left Behind series of books and movies have contributed to the alarm or uneasiness associated with this book. A Sunday evening Bible Study led by Pastor John will study this book to see the message of this book as was intended when it was written: as a book of hope for Christians in crisis. Along with the biblical text we will use Barbara Rossing’s book, "The Rapture Exposed: The Message of Hope in the Book of Revelaltion", as a resource. Participants in the study may order a copy of the book if they desire. This study, offered on Sunday evenings at 7:00 PM correlates with the study offered on Wednesday mornings at 9:45. (See the related article.) Participants will have the opportunity to attend either study session. No sign-ups are necessary. Books may be purchased following the opening session All are welcome bring your Bible!
