Communion Bread Couriers

Thank you for serving Sharon Lutheran by picking up communion bread from Dakota Harvest Bakers and delivering it to the church. It is a simple, but important, task. Dakota Harvest Bakers is making the bread available to Sharon (and to some other local congregations) as a gift. Here’s what we need to do:

1). Go to Dakota Harvest Bakers, 17 North Third Street, Grand Forks, (701) 772-2100, on Saturdays after 10:30 or 11:00 a.m.

2). Tell the person behind the counter that you would like to pick up communion bread for Sharon Lutheran, and that we would like seven loaves. The bakery uses a rounded, whole-wheat loaf for communion bread, and we are using seven loaves each week. If it has cooled sufficiently by the time we pick it up, the loaves will probably be wrapped individually in plastic wrap. Otherwise, the loaves will be put in individual paper bread bags, and all the loaves will be put into a shopping bag. Thank them for their generosity!

3). Take the bread to Sharon, and put it in the fellowship hall kitchen, near the coffee machines (where communion preparation is done). You might want to check the church calendar before you go, so that you arrive at a time when there is some activity scheduled and the church is unlocked. Or call me, 746-4673, to borrow a key.

4). If you cannot pick up and deliver on a date you are scheduled to do so, arrange for someone else to do it. You can contact someone from the list below, or someone who is not on the list.

Here are some possible fill-ins:

Alice Senechal, Becky Ronkowski, Alana Knudson, Bob Winter, Lora Machart, Josi Novak
