Camp Metigoshe       Prairie to Bay  2010 High School Mission Trip

Summer Camp

for Grades 6-10

There are a variety of Bible camps in the area that offer many different camping opportunities for your child’s age group-please feel free to select the camp and week that works best in your summer schedule.  Several camp brochures are available in the brochure rack located on the wall outside of the main Church Office door.  Sharon has selected a week of camp at Camp Metigoshe for youth in grades 6-10 with transportation available.  We are sharing bus transportation with Calvary Lutheran.

August 8-13 is Sharon’s week at Camp Metigoshe for youth entering Grandes 6--10!

To make the registration process a bit easier for the camp, we are asking that registration be done directly with Metigoshe.  Register online at www.metigosheministries.com.  Be sure to list Sharon Lutheran as your home congregation.  $20.00 saves you a spot on the bus...spots are limited. At this time we have seven   remaining spots on the bus.  You must sign-up and pay in the youth ministry office for the bus.  If you have any questions about camping ministries, please contact Rachael Puttbrese by e-mail or phone:  rputtbrese@sharonlutheran.org or 772-3122 ext. 208.

Prairie to Bay 2010 High School Mission Trip

On July 24th, 41 youth and 10 adults will be boarding a bus early in the morning and heading west for the San Francisco Bay Area. They include members and friends of Sharon Lutheran Church and Martin’s Lutheran Churchin Casselton. They have spent the past several months preparing for this trip – fundraising, studying God’s word, learning about the place they will be serving and growing together as a team.

The theme for our journey is Daily Bread. In the Lord’s Prayer we pray that God will continue to provide us with daily bread. Martin Luther, in his Small Catechism reminds us that the term ‘daily bread’ refers to everything that we need to live, including relationships and community. Given this understanding we learn that we have the potential to be daily bread for others and they in turn have the potential to be daily bread for us. We look forward to discovering what it means to give and receive daily bread in the Bay Area.

You all have certainly been daily bread for us in your generosity of prayerful and financial support and for that we are truly thankful! Everyone is invited to join us for our commissioning service, which will be held during our Wednesday worship at 6:15 pm on July 14th, 2010.

Please continue to keep the people listed above in your prayers and journey along with us online at...
