What In The World Is Fair Trade Coffee??!
  • Behind every cup of coffee there is a farmer to produce it. But usually the economics don't work in the farmers' favor.
  • Most of us pay over $2 for a cup of coffee when the people who grow the coffee in the cup that you drink are lucky to live on $2 a day!!
  • Only 6 major United States Corporations control over 40% of coffee sales causing a crunch in fair prices for the coffee crop.
  • For every pound of coffee sold the farmer only receives 35 cents and the picker less than 14 cents.
  • Fair Trade coffee was organized to guarantee coffee farmers a set price at least four times higher than the industry average, regardless of world price fluctuations.
