Church School Changes 2021-2022

Church School 2021-2022!

Please note time changes and formats from previous years.

Register now for church school this fall.  By doing so, you help us plan and prepare for all of our students and their diverse needs.  Following are the options for church school times and volunteer opportunities:

Sundays:

9:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m.:  ALL KIDS Church School.  This is a multiage classroom, where we can connect older and younger kids with a “buddy” system that offers leadership opportunities.  Depending on the number of participants, this will be one larger group guided by three or more adult leaders, with opportunities for smaller group exploration of the content. One Sunday each month the class will attend worship.

Volunteers* needed:  Adults who wish to work in a team-teaching situation.

10:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m.:  CLASSROOM Church School. Students will be in classrooms corresponding to their age or grade level in school.  Each class will be limited to 8 students and have at least two teachers/assistants per classroom.  Each class will attend worship one Sunday each month.

Volunteers* needed:  Adults and high school students (10th grade and above) who wish to teach  a particular age/grade level.  Sixth-9th graders may be assistants for these classes.

Adults to serve as principals

Wednesdays:

5:15 p.m.-5:45 p.m.**:  FAITHFUL FAMILIES Church School.  This is a multiage, family church school.  At least one parent attends with their child(ren) and may be invited to help lead parts of the lesson on occasion.  The curriculum adapts to multiple learning styles and includes activities, interactive games, and creative crafts.

**Times may be extended as necessary to complete an activity.

6:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m.:  CLASSROOM Church School. Students will be in classrooms corresponding to their age or grade level in school.  Each class will be limited to 8 students and have at least two teachers/assistants per classroom.  Each class will attend worship one Wednesday each month.

Volunteers* needed:  Adults and high school students (10th grade and above) who wish to teach a particular age/grade level.  Sixth-9th graders may be assistants for these classes.

Adults to serve as principals.

*Lessons are prepared by the Education Staff, so that all supplies are ready.  Teachers have the ability to preview the lessons prior to the teaching day.

Principals collect attendance and offering; they monitor the education spaces and assist teachers with unexpected situations when necessary.
