worship
Worship gathers us as one body, invites us to hear God's Word, leads us to experience God's grace in baptism and communion, and then sends us out to engage and serve the world.

Communion Preparation and Clean-Up

Prepare and set out the communion items and tableware. Clean-up and put away items following the service.

Communion Servers

Assist the pastor(s) in distribution of the bread and wine to each individual coming forward to commune. At least 3 people are needed for each communion station and there are at least two stations in each communion service. Currently, communion is offered at all services. Individuals who are interested in serving should take a Communion Server card from an usher upon entering a worship service.

Ushers

Ushers are responsible for greeting and seating people, passing out bulletins, distributing and collecting offertory, directing people for communion, greeting people as they leave, and tidying the Sanctuary or Celebration Hall for the next service. 4 ushers are needed for each of 3 Sunday morning worship services and 2 are needed for the Wednesday evening worship service.

Usher Responsibilities

As ushers, you play an essential part in making worshippers feel welcome in our church, and in making them comfortable in attending our services again.

Readers

Usually 2 lessons, a psalm, and a gospel text are read at each worship service. One reader is needed for each worship service. The reader is asked to come forward and read the lessons from the altar area. The full text, pronunciation keys, introductory remarks, and directions are provided to the reader a couple days before the worship service. Lay volunteers should be comfortable reading before the congregation.

Nursery Assistants

We are currently unable to offer nursery attendants. You are welcome to use the nursery but please do not leave your young children unattended. Audio from the Celebration Hall can be turned on in the nursery via the switch on the wall.
