PASTOR KAREN YOUNG TRENNE

Hello Sharon Lutheran! My name is Karen Young Trenne, and I have been serving Jesus together with Sharon Lutheran congregation as Interim Administrative Pastor since September 2021. Preaching the Word of God, baptizing new Christians, and feeding God's people with the Bread of Life are central to my call as a minister of Word and Sacrament in the ELCA. My first priority here at Sharon is to be your pastor during this interim period. We don't know how long it will be, but I anticipate being with you until your next administrative pastor or pastoral team is called.

The Sharon congregation council has appointed a transition team to start the work of the Ministry Site Profile. After this is completed, the congregation will elect a call committee to start interviewing candidates for the Administrative Pastor position.

I am married to Pastor Paul Trenne who serves with Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, East Grand Forks. We have two adult children, Ben, Lincoln, NE, and Rachel, New York, NY.

PASTOR TAWANDA MURINDA

Pastor Tawanda Murinda completed his Master of Divinity degree at Wartburg Theological Seminary in Dubuque, IA. Before that, he graduated from Wartburg College in Waverly, IA with a Bachelors Degree in Engineering and a minor in Physics. While in college, he also worked at Ewalu Bible Camp for three summers. During seminary, Pastor Tawanda worked as the Youth and Family Ministry Coordinator at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Dubuque, IA for three and a half years. And after his ordination, he was an Associate Pastor at Faith+Journey Lutheran Church in West Fargo before moving to St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Thompson. Throughout his ministry, Pastor Tawanda has shown great propensity for mission and service, as well as a passion for children, youth, and young adult ministries.

DEACON JAMIE TRAVERS & GINGER

Deacon Jamie joined the ministry of Sharon Lutheran Church in September of 2019 as the Deacon of Congregational Life. He is a graduate of Concordia College, Moorhead, MN and Luther Seminary, St. Paul, MN. Jamie was commissioned as an ELCA Deacon in 1996. In 2019, he also completed training as a level 2 coach in the ELCA. He spent 23 years in Family Ministry at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Devils Lake, ND before coming to Sharon. Jamie is originally from Grafton, ND. Deacon Jamie is called to word and service ministry. He loves to guide people of all ages in daily discipleship. In his free-time, he loves to do creative things like music, theatre, and art. Deacon Jamie and his dog Ginger would love to welcome you to be involved in ministry at Sharon.

Ginger loves hanging out at Sharon Lutheran during the weekdays. She gets a lot of treats and attention from the staff. She also enjoys watching worship.
