If you do not have children you are registering for Vacation Bible School (June 3-6), but would like to help, please use SignUp Genius to indicate your preference(s).  There is also a sign-up sheet in the narthex near the rocket. You may  use a separate SignUp to volunteer to work on VBS decorations on April 23, May 14, May 28 (6:00 p.m.-8:30p.m.), and June 2 (12:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m.).  If you can't be at one of our decoration workshops, but would like to  volunteer on your own schedule, please contact Cheryl (education@sharonlutheran.org).  We might have something you could do at home!

2024 Feed My Starving Children Mobile Pack Event

 

Sharon Lutheran Church is again working with area churches to host the event. Dates are: April 26 and 27. Sign up sheets for the Feed My Starving Children Mobile Pack event (Noon-2:00 pm April 27) are available at the Welcome Center.

The Spring Dinner, “From The Badlands To The Bayou”, will take place on Sunday, May 5th at 5:00pm.

Dinner tickets and raffle tickets are available at tables in the Narthex following worship, and the raffle baskets are also on display.  This fundraiser supports our two summer trips:  the middle school mission trip to Rapid City, South Dakota and the high school trip to the ELCA Youth Gathering in New Orleans.  More information can also be found in the Narthex.

Dapper Day in Honor of Mother's Day

​

Dapper Day, May 12th celebrates the tradition of “stepping out in style” and is meant to showcase you looking your best in honor of Mother’s Day, while celebrating your own personal style. Wear whatever best represents you to worship on Sunday. All are invited and welcome to worship, no matter what you are wearing. It is just meant to be something fun to do.

The Spring Sharon Lutheran Church Rummage Sale is returning on Friday, MAY 17!!!

So pack up all your treasures and get ready to volunteer!

Here is some information that you should know:

​

1. There are 3 days that you can drop off your donations:

Monday, May 13, 10 am - 5 pm

Tuesday, May 14, 10 am - 7 pm

Wednesday, May 15, 10 am - 6 pm

2. You will be asked to place your items in the appropriate rooms by category so consider dividing up your items accordingly.

​

3. We are accepting donations of kitchen items, knick knacks, linens, gently-used clothing, toys, games, books, small furniture items, and small appliances in working condition.

​

If you have large furniture you would like to donate, please talk to a rummage sale team member to see if we can accept your item.

 

Again this year: The Sharon Specialty Boutique! This is where we will sell our brand name, excellent /new condition and special items!

 

4. We are unable to accept computers and electronics, TVs, large appliances, pianos (electric keyboards are fine), large exercise equipment, infant car seats and cribs, home-recorded videos and clothing that is dirty, stained or has “unfashionable” holes.

Join in the fun and volunteer to help at the Rummage Sale!

 

Volunteers are able to shop and make purchases before the sale begins on Friday!

We are looking for volunteers to direct donators to the appropriate room for their donations at drop-off, set up of the sale, pricing items and working the day of the sale.

We will need volunteers for the following times:

​

Sunday, May 12: 5 pm until we have the tables and basic set up complete

Monday, May 13: 10 am - 6 pm

Tuesday, May 14: 10 am - 7 pm

Wednesday, May 15: 10 am - 7 pm

Thursday, May 16: 10 am until we are all set up for the sale on Friday

Friday, May 17: 6:30 am until approximately 7 pm

Watch for sign-up sheets at the Welcome Center and on Sign-up Genius!

The Rummage Sale proceeds are used to maintain and improve Our Sharon Lutheran Church Home.

New Member Orientation

 

Are you looking to join the Sharon Lutheran Church family? We will be hosting a New Member Orientation on Sunday, April 28th, beginning at 11:30 am. If you are interested in joining, please call the church office (701-772-3122) during normal business hours or speak with a Pastor or Deacon today!

Valley Senior Living Foundation will host the 9th annual “Around Our Table” on April 27. Around Our Table supports the Chaplaincy Ministry program at Valley Senior Living care communities, providing spiritual support to the nearly 550 residents, their families, and over 850 employees. How can you get involved? Annual WELCA Business Meeting Scheduled

 

Per our Constitution, the Women of Sharon, wil hold our annual business meeting on Monday, May 13th at 7pm in the Sanctuary. (This is the week of p the Rummage Sale, so come early and drop off your donations and stay for the meeting.) This meeting is for the purpose of receiving reports, projecting plans, electing leadership, and adopting an annual budget. Some of our Board (elected last year) were elected to 2 year terms and some to 1 year terms. Our nominating committee will be looking for people to fill any open positions; if interested in being nominated, let Sheryl Weisenberger, Kristi Larson, or Becca Waege know.

Living Lutheran—Free Digital Magazine

The ELCA's magazine- Living Lutheran—like many other magazines, recently transitioned to all-digital publication. The digital magazine is FREE. At livinglutheran.org/subscribe, you can sign up to receive Living Lutheran's stories in your inbox weekly, every other week, or monthly. You can also choose to receive the categories of stories of most interest to you.

Tech Person Needed

​

Every Sunday, we livestream our worship services online. We have an opportunity to make this ministry even better. We are looking for people to operate the camera during worship. It can be for either the 9:00 or 10:30 services—or both! Training will be provided along with a small stipend. Volunteers can do it as often as they would like. "WELCOME TO BAPTISM ORIENTATION"

If you are planning a baptism in your family, plan to come to a one-hour orientation called “Welcome to  Baptism” on Sunday, April 21st at 4:00pm in the church lounge. Please enter through door #1.  To register for the class, please call the church office by Friday before the class at 772-3122. or email the church office at:  office@sharonlutheran.org; or speak to one of the pastors.  Sponsors are welcome too in addition to parents.
